Process of Improving and Expanding My Instructional Repertoire
As a teacher, it is imperative to continue growing and learning along with your students. There are always ways we can improve, and through my time at MSU and my field experience at Grandville High School, I was able to expand my instructional repertoire by implementing a new strategy to solve a problem I was finding with my students.

Emily Kearns:
Professional Educator
About Emily

I am a professional secondary educator with a focus on history, but I am also certified to teach psychology and social studies topics, such as civics and economics. I graduated from Michigan State University in May 2018. My goal as a teacher is to cater my teaching towards students in the best way that I can in order to encourage curiosity, perspective-taking, and creativity while developing problem solving skills.
My Experience
I have had a myriad of amazing experiences to help prepare me as an educator: volunteering at a local museum, working as an Undergraduate Assistant in a geography class at MSU, studying abroad in South Africa, volunteering as an instructor for MSU's Ballroom Dance Team, and my internship experiences through the College of Education at MSU.
